Product Description
Koi fish are revered for their beauty, serenity, and symbolic significance. Synonymous with harmony and happiness, they are often associated with the Yin Yang symbol in feng shui, representing opposing, yet balancing forces said to govern the cosmos. Each coin is struck from 5oz of 99.99% pure silver and issued as legal tender under the authority of the Government of Tuvalu, which will release no more than 750 of the Yin Yang Koi 2024 5oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin with Pearls.
The coin portrays a Yin Yang symbol with black and polished teardrop-shaped halves, each featuring the image of a koi. The interdependence of the fish is represented by the seed of its rival in the form of a black freshwater pearl on the head of the polished koi, and a white freshwater pearl on the head of the black koi. Also included in the design is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II supplemented with the dates of her reign ‘1952-2022’, as well as the weight, fineness, monetary denomination, and 2024 year-date.
The coin is housed in a classic display case with a clear lid. Packaged with an illustrated shipper, each coin is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
