Product Description
Struck from 1oz of 99.99% pure silver, this coin marks the 11th Australian Wedge-tailed Eagle design for The Perth Mint by renowned American coin sculptor John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the US Mint. As a striking emblem of freedom, the coloured reverse features the head of a wedge-tailed eagle in the foreground, showcasing its distinctive dark brown plumage. The American bald eagle with its iconic white head and striking yellow bill is positioned behind it, serving as a powerful nod to the 250th anniversary of US independence to be celebrated on 4 July 2026. Both birds are portrayed majestically gazing to the right, accompanied by the inscription ‘AUSTRALIAN WEDGE-TAILED EAGLE’, the year-date, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. The coin is beautifully housed on an illustrated collector card with a fold-out leg for upright display.
