The Starry Night was created when Van Gogh was in therapy for his mental illness and he painted the scene that he saw out his window. The coin is struck with a minting technique that combines 1 Oz of Silver with 14 Oz of Copper. The obverse of the coin depicts Edvard Munch and Van Gogh along with the Coat of Arms of Chad and the inscriptions: "REPUBLIQUE DU TCHAD" - the issuing country, "2023" - the year of issue and "5000 FRANCS CFA" - the face value.
